CHALLENGE

HealthCareData Company (HDC) is a leading provider of mandatory audits for the healthcare industry. They support some of the country’s largest healthcare providers through comprehensive audits that ensure that the plans they offer meet standard requirements.

In response to data breaches in the industry and growing concerns over privacy, HDC found themselves needing to comply with a new, tougher set of rules for complying with procedures imposed upon them by the government and the large national providers. To prove their compliance with these procedures, the company was pending valuable resources on individual audits for all their clients. HDC decided to
move forward with gaining their HITRUST certification, and put their trust in Simply IT to help them realize that goal.

SOLUTION

Simply IT collaborated with internal HDC resource Peter Ackroyd to put new systems and processes in place, securing their network, and meeting the comprehensive security requirements. They developed a system in which no data is ever kept or logged anywhere in HDC’s software to ensure ongoing compliance. To get this done, Simply IT worked alongside HDC’s team, creating an environment in which each machine has identical lockdown standards across the entire organization. In addition, Simply IT’s role also extended to providing detailed and complete responses to the varied, comprehensive requirements from HDC’s largest providers.

Simply IT also completely designed a custom software solution that provided compliance reporting to all of HDC’s clientele.

RESULTS

Today, HDC is HITRUST certified, meeting all standards and requirements. Ackroyd considers this “a major achievement” that took an immense amount of work; from fact finding and problem-solving to attention to detail.

The software solution Simply IT designed delivered dramatic performance improvements. Due to the software, auditing processes that used to take 3 days and excessive amounts of internal resource dedication per client to process now take under a minute.
